Background

Nash was a visiting professor of jewelry and metalsmithing at the University of Wyoming. He earned a master of fine arts degree at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.

He was an experienced bike rider who frequently biked 20 miles a day or more. Nash was known to travel light, sometimes not even taking water with him.

His loved ones say his disappearance is highly uncharacteristic for him. He was known to go off the radar from time to time, but only for short periods.

Disappearance

On July 8, 2024, Nash Quinn left his residence in Laramie, Wyoming for a bicycle ride. He never returned home, and hasn’t been heard from since.

He was reported missing to the Laramie Police Department on July 21, 2024, after a close friend realized no one had heard from him since the day he left to ride.

His favorite bike was a white fixed-fork 29er “Ridley” with a white rigid steel frame and a brown leather seat. His bike and helmet are missing from his home, and presumed to be with him.

All of his personal belongings including his wallet, cell phone, credit card, and drivers license were left behind at home. His red 2003 Toyota Carolla was also left secured at his residence.

Investigation

Investigators have clarified that they’re not exactly sure which day Quinn actually left for his bike ride, but they have been able to pin it down to a two week timeline based on his communications with his boss at the University of Wyoming.

For weeks, authorities searched over 70,000 acres for Quinn with the help of helicopters, drones, and dog teams, but no further clues as to his whereabouts have been found.

Nash was known to frequently ride in the Pilot Hill, Roger’s Canyon, and Happy Jack areas in the Snowy Mountain Range easy of Laramie.

He may have been planning to visit Sheep Mountain in Albany County, as he had been searching the area on Google Maps shortly before he went missing.

Another area that showed up in his search history was the Thom Thorne/Beth Williams area north of Sybille Creek and Highway 34.

Appearance

White male with sandy color hair and blue eyes. Nash stands 5’10 tall and weighs 165 pounds.

Clothing & Accessories:
Nash was possibly last seen wearing a t-shirt, black shorts, black bike shoes, and a bicycle helmet. He wears prescription wire frame glasses.
