The Disappearance of Brittany Duff
32 year old Brittany Duff was last seen in Kermit, West Virginia on June 12, 2022. She disappeared after placing a call to a friend, telling them she’d be arriving soon.
Background
Brittany Duff was born on October 29, 1989 to parents Mary and Paul Horn. She has two older siblings and graduated from Tolsia High School in 2008.
She struggled with substance abuse, and entered a treatment facility in 2022. Shortly before her disappearance, a suspicious fire destroyed the house she had inherited from her father.
Brittany had been planning to start a new life with her four children at that home, but accepted an offer to stay with her mother until she could make new arrangements.
Disappearance
On June 12, 2022, Brittany Duff was last seen leaving a home in the 1500 block of Jennings Creek Road in Kermit, West Virginia. She left on foot wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, and was carrying a backpack.
On June 13, 2022, Brittany placed a call to a friend using someone else’s phone, and left a voicemail stating she would be arriving soon. Brittany never arrived and hasn’t been heard from since.
After not being able to get in contact with her for 10 days, her mother reported her missing to the West Virginia State Police on June 23, 2022.
Investigation
Brittany did not have a vehicle or cell phone at the time of her disappearance.
The friend who Brittany called on June 13 said she sounded frantic in the voicemail, and said that she was in Louisa, Kentucky. Another one of Brittany’s friends claims they did give her a ride to Louisa.
Upon hearing that Brittany had been in Louisa, her family traveled to Kentucky to file an additional missing person’s report.
Appearance
White female born on October 29, 1989. Brittany has brown hair, blue eyes, stands 6’1 tall, and weighs 125-130 pounds.
She has several tattoos; “spark” on her neck, a star on her stomach, and her children’s names on her wrist.
Clothing & Accessories:
Brittany was last seen wearing a pink shirt, jean shorts, white and green sneakers, sunglasses, a gold chain, and bracelets. She was carrying a tan backpack.
